This course is designed to examine the yield potential of field crops in various environments. Students learn about the importance of crop physiology in crop production and breeding. Topics include canopy architecture and radiation interception, photosynthesis and respiration, carbon and nitrogen allocation, plant-water relationships, and plant response to restricted environments. The course provides practical experience using instrumentation to measure physiological processes in laboratory and field.
