Guidelines for Linking to Catalog

College and department web page developers are encouraged to link directly to the program descriptions in the current online University Catalog.EM 02-096: University Publications

The University Catalog serves a vital function to Chico State students by providing up-to-date course information. Maintainers of campus websites can make sure that they are providing students the most current academic program information (requirements for majors, options, minors, or certificates) by linking directly to the relevant catalog pages.

Old versions of the catalog are also available to students, so site maintainers must be careful to avoid links to outdated catalog content. Best practices for linking to the most current version of the University Catalog using “generic” links are found in the campus Knowledge Base.

For more tips on web content best practices, see the “Web Writing” section of the University Communicators Guide.
