Pre-Veterinary Program in Animal Science

Students interested in the Pre-Veterinary Medicine advising pattern should major in Animal Science if they have an interest in becoming a large animal practitioner (i.e., Food Animal, Equine and/or Mixed Practice). Pre-Veterinary students should consult with the pre-veterinary advisor each semester to ensure that they will meet the minimum requirements. Most required courses for admission to Veterinary School can be used toward completion of the Animal Science Degree program. This highly competitive program requires students to perform academically and to acquire field experience in both large animal veterinary medicine and livestock management.
