College of Behavioral & Social Sciences

The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences offers undergraduate programs of study in anthropology, child development, criminal justice, economics, geography and planning, international relations, intersectional Chicanx and Latinx studies, legal studies, public administration, multicultural and gender studies, political science, psychology, public health and health services administration, social science, social work, sociology, and women's studies.

Graduate programs of study include anthropology, applied/school psychology, marriage and family therapy, political science, psychological science, public administration, social science, and social work.

Our Mission

The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences advances innovative and high-quality teaching and research to expand our understanding of behavioral, social, cultural, and environmental aspects of the human condition. In collaboration with local, regional, and global communities, the college promotes student learning, ethical leadership, and responsible citizenship.

Our Curriculum

Our general education, undergraduate and graduate programs prepare students to be knowledgeable in the methods and scope of the behavioral and social sciences, to be skilled in their respective disciplines, and to be prepared to undertake a lifelong path of learning and service to their community.

High Impact Practices

Throughout our curriculum, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences engages students in high impact practices, including, internships, faculty-led research, professional conference presentations, experiential labs, service learning, writing-intensive courses, capstone projects, and innovative classroom pedagogies.
